PROSPECTUS

COMPETITION OVERVIEW

SICA is currently planning SCULPTOURE 2010, an urban sculpture park throughout the cities of Long Branch and Asbury Park. The artists participating in this fourth annual event will be solicited nationwide to compete for the opportunity to have their work displayed in the rapidly-evolving downtown areas of these two shore resort cities. SICA will coordinate evaluation and selection of the submitted works.

Visitors will receive printed material with a map showing the locations of all the artwork and they will be encouraged to take "walking tours" to view the sculpture. These brochures will be available at SICA as well as various other locations throughout Long Branch and Asbury Park. Information about the artists will be available at these locations as well as in all advertisings and on our website.

The grand opening of this two-city urban sculpture park is being planned for Saturday, May 8, 2010 and will be in conjunction with the 4th Annual HIGH RELIEF, a state-wide High School Sculpture Competition.

OBJECTIVE

The Urban Sculpture Park will allow featured works to be complimented by the urban settings of these two historic cities -- Long Branch and Asbury Park, and augmented by the natural beauty of the Jersey Shore. These works will be experienced in a casual, relaxed way by visitors and residents alike. The sculpture will be displayed in both cities at select location along the ocean, lake and boardwalk areas; the downtown districts; as well as in the various other select locations.
